In 1898, German settlers established themselves in Shandong with their dogs. Great Dane, German Shepherd and Rottweiler were crossed with native Chinese dogs. What emerged, refined over more than a century of selection, is the Laizhou Hong.

Family Protection
A protector who is also family
The dog lives inside the house, with the children, in the routine. It protects the home on command and goes back to being a dog the moment after.
Minimum level III
Personal Protection
Protection that travels with you
For those who move. The dog comes along in the car, on the trip, at the office and at the restaurant, without drawing attention and without going off duty.

Property Protection
A permanent presence on the estate
Farms, businesses and large estates. A guard dog that lives alongside staff and family without becoming a hazard.

Five levels
From foundation to bespoke programme. No protection work begins before obedience is complete.
You do not wait for the dog to grow up. It already has.
The maturity shown at each level is the dog's age on the day it reaches you, not the time you spend waiting. Our dogs enter training at two months and are delivered finished.
The timeline depends on the dog, which is why we do not publish a number. A dog already finished in our kennels leaves quickly. A dog selected and trained for your case takes as long as the training takes. In the first conversation we give you the date, looking at that specific dog.

Foundation
Accumulated training · 8 to 12 weeks
The base everything else rests on. Intensive socialisation and handling before any protection work.
Age at delivery: 5 to 10 months

Obedience
Accumulated training · 4 to 6 months
Reliable off-lead control. The dog stops responding to commands and starts operating within a routine.
Age at delivery: 10 to 16 months

Family Protection
Accumulated training · 8 to 12 months
Home protection on command, with intent discrimination. The dog tells a visitor from a threat.
Age at delivery: 16 to 24 months

Personal Protection
Accumulated training · 12 to 18 months
The dog comes along. Public settings, travel and movement, without ceasing to be discreet.
Age at delivery: 24 to 36 months

A bespoke programme. Multiple residences, security teams, specific protocols.

CBKC Standard NR32
The Brazilian Kennel Confederation published the official breed standard in February 2026. The document describes the temperament as friendly and calm, extremely devoted to the family, and lists aggression as a disqualifying fault.

For the past fifty years, Western working lines have been selected under the pressure of sport, and that criterion rewards drive. The Laizhou Hong was selected, generation after generation, to guard the property and live inside the house. Different criterion, different objective.
