Terms of Use
Version 1.0, in force since 8 August 2026.
1. Who we are
Hong Dynasty Protection, operated by Douglas Maia, trains and places Laizhou Hong protection dogs.
Hong Dynasty is not a kennel and does not breed dogs. Breeding and genetics come from the Laizhou Hong Brasil kennel, a separate party. Anyone wanting to buy a puppy and train it elsewhere should approach the kennel; anyone wanting a finished dog, or one in training, deals with us.
Contact: contact@hongdynasty.com.
2. What this site is
This site is informational. It presents the breed, the training method, the dogs and the process.
There is no purchase through the site. No payment is processed here, no prices are published, and completing a form neither reserves a dog nor creates an obligation to sell for either party.
Information about each dog describes the situation on the date of publication and may change. Level, mode and status are updated as training progresses.
3. The process
A request sent through the site starts a conversation, and nothing more.
- We turn down more requests than we accept, and we prefer to say no early.
- Visiting our training centre in person is a mandatory step. Nobody receives a dog of ours without first having stood where it lives.
- The choice of dog is made together. We may recommend waiting for another dog rather than closing on the available one.
- We may decline a placement whenever we judge it is not good for the dog or for the family, at any point before delivery.
We do not publish a delivery timeline, because it varies with the dog. The date is given in conversation, looking at that specific dog, and becomes part of the contract when there is one.
4. Prices and contract
We do not publish prices. Every dog has a different training history, and the contracted level changes the figure. Price enters the conversation after we understand your case.
Every commercial condition, including payment method, deadlines and any deposit, is set out in the sale contract, delivered for reading before any payment.
Additional costs of transport, travel and boarding, where they exist, are stated in writing before they are incurred.
5. What comes with the dog
On delivery the dog comes with: certificate of origin, identification certificate carrying the microchip number, veterinary history, health certificate issued close to delivery, vaccination record showing the vet, batch and date of each dose, deworming and antiparasitic history, contract, handover record and the Guardian Handbook.
When the line is registered with a kennel club, the pedigree goes with the dog. When it is not, we issue our own genealogical certificate, which states on the document itself that it is not a kennel club pedigree.
6. Guarantees
Health guarantee. Covers, for ninety days from delivery, whatever the veterinary assessment carried out close to delivery identifies. It does not cover what was not examined.
Extended guarantee, optional. Hip and elbow radiographs and a genetic panel are not part of the standard protocol. They may be commissioned, at additional cost, before delivery. Once the test is done, the hip dysplasia guarantee runs for twenty-four months.
Fit guarantee. If, despite the whole process, the dog does not settle into your home, we take it back and work out the solution, whether replacement or refund, under the terms of the contract.
The periods, conditions and limits of each guarantee are set out in the contract, which prevails over the summary on this page.
7. Delivery and support
Delivery is in person, at your home, and includes five days of training for whoever will handle the dog and for the family, split across two sessions.
Support includes thirty days of close follow-up, with us reaching out, plus a further sixty days of direct access to the team. After those ninety days, consulting remains available, online or in person, as a separately contracted service.
Annual recertification is recommended for the dog’s whole life and is charged separately. It is not contractually mandatory, but a finished dog that loses the protocol unlearns.
8. Commitments of whoever receives the dog
On receiving a Hong Dynasty dog, the owner undertakes to:
- Provide adequate food, regular veterinary care and exercise suited to the dog’s size.
- Follow the handling protocol delivered with the dog.
- Not abandon, mistreat or neglect the animal.
- Tell us if they can no longer keep it, before passing it to anyone else.
If the owner can no longer keep the dog, we have a right of first refusal to buy it back, on terms negotiated case by case. That right exists so the dog returns to people who know how to handle it, not to restrict the owner.
9. Responsibility for the animal
Under art. 936 of the Brazilian Civil Code, the owner or keeper of an animal is liable for the damage it causes. From delivery onwards, that responsibility is the owner’s.
That is why training whoever will handle the dog is part of delivery, and is not optional.
No training makes the behaviour of a living being predictable in a hundred per cent of situations. We do not promise absolute behaviour, and the contract records that limit expressly.
10. Intellectual property
Text, photographs, illustrations, trademarks and visual identity on this site belong to Hong Dynasty Protection and may not be reproduced without written permission.
11. Changes
These terms may change. Each version carries its own identifier, and the version in force on the date of your request applies. Changes do not apply retroactively to contracts already signed.
12. Governing law and venue
These terms are governed by Brazilian law. Any dispute will preferably be settled by direct agreement and, failing that, in the courts of the consumer’s domicile, under the Brazilian Consumer Protection Code.
