Questions

Frequently asked questions

The doubts that come up in every first conversation, answered plainly.

Is a protection dog safe around children?

A finished one is. A dog selected, socialised from eight weeks and assessed over years lives with children better than most companion dogs, because it was exposed to that on purpose and not by chance. What is not safe is a dog with protection work and no living-together work. We never deliver the second without the first.

Why not a German Shepherd at a fraction of the price?

You can, and in many cases should. A good working-line German Shepherd is an extraordinary dog. The difference is not the breed. It is what comes with the dog: a year and a half to two and a half years of documented training, individual assessment, delivery in person with family training, and annual maintenance. If you want a dog to train yourself, the German Shepherd is an excellent and cheaper choice. We sell something else.

What is the difference between you and the Laizhou Hong Brasil kennel?

The kennel breeds and supplies the dogs. Hong Dynasty trains and places finished dogs. If you want to buy a puppy and train it wherever you prefer, the kennel is the route, and there is nothing wrong with that. If you want a finished dog with documented training, delivery in person and a fit warranty, the route is here. We do not hide it: what you pay extra for is not the dog, it is the training.

Do you sell puppies?

No. No dog leaves Hong Dynasty unless it is finished or in training with a forecast date. A puppy without training is a different product, and the kennel is who sells it.

How much does it cost?

We do not publish figures, and the reason is simple: every dog has a different training history, and the contracted level changes everything. The figure enters the conversation after we understand your case, never before.

How long does it take?

It depends on the dog, which is why we do not publish a timeline. A dog already finished at the level you need leaves quickly. A dog selected and trained for your case takes as long as the training takes. In the first conversation we look at that specific dog and give you the date. We do not rush training on a client's request.

What if the dog does not settle?

There is a fit warranty in the contract, and we take the dog back. But what matters more is what comes before it: the mandatory visit, the long conversation and our willingness to turn a request down exist so that this does not happen.

Will the dog bite someone without cause?

The whole of stages three and four is discrimination: telling routine from threat and stopping on command. That said, we do not promise absolute behaviour from any animal, and you should be wary of anyone who does. What we do is reduce that risk to a minimum through selection, training and assessment, and then prepare you to handle the dog.

Do I need experience with dogs?

No, but you need willingness. Delivery includes five days of training for you and your family, and annual maintenance runs for the dog’s life. A client who does not want that part is usually a client we turn down.

Do you deliver outside Brazil?

Yes, and delivery is always in person. Each destination has its own health and documentary requirements, which we establish case by case before committing to any timeline.

Will you train my dog?

Obedience and behaviour, yes, any breed, with a free initial assessment. Protection work, no. We only build protection on dogs we have followed from puppyhood, because we cannot answer for a genetic background and a history we do not know.

Can I meet the dogs first?

Not only can you, you have to. Visiting our training centre is a mandatory step in the process, not a courtesy. Nobody receives a dog of ours without first having stood where it lives.
