Holds position while the family receives visitors, while a child runs past, and amid construction noise.
Marks direction and intent without advancing, and stops marking on a command given in a normal voice. It is cessation, not advance, that this level proves.
It tells an announced visitor from an unannounced approach, and lives alongside the people who work in the house. It accompanies a person moving within the property without altering their pace.
What went up at this level was not intensity. It was discernment.
What this level does not cover
Handling by third parties is not included, nor work at a private security post. We supply the dog, never the handler.
The dog is not trained to chase, to detain a person, or to act against a group.
There is no guarantee of behaviour. No serious programme offers one, and anyone who does is describing a dog that does not exist.
We do not claim this dog tells friend from foe. It discriminates according to the protocol it was trained on, and a protocol has limits.
